Kathleen Battah, (‘Kitty’) has held the position as Head of Wellspring Learning Community for the past four years. During the school’s relatively short history of 10 years, it has earned the prestigious title as being the first and only IB Continuum World school in Lebanon offering PYP, MYP and DP programmes besides the national program. Wellspring is currently a CIS/NEASC member school that is expecting (after the Self Study), a September 2017 authorization team visit.

During her 30 years of being in the field of education, Kitty has taught PYP, MYP English language and Literature, MYP individuals and societies, science, math, visual arts and adult ESL along with coordinating elementary English language arts programs, steering committee leadership roles, working with diverse learners and conference presenter. Prior to joining Wellspring in 2007, Kitty served four years as middle school principal at Sagesse High School followed by a fourth year as the school’s preschool principal. Before moving to Lebanon 26 years ago, Kitty taught business classes to small business entrepreneurs in the US state of Georgia and architectural stained glass design and construction for residential and commercial projects in Miami, Florida. Kitty has a BA in elementary education and MA in school leadership.
